Steering Control Rearward Displacement*
This Standard applies to MPVs, trucks and buses with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. (4,536 kg) or less and an unloaded weight of 5,500 lbs. (2,495 kg) or less. It does not apply to walk-in vans. It specifies requirements limiting the rearward displacement of the steering control into the passenger compartment in a frontal barrier crash at 30 mph.
*This Standard specifies barrier testing.
