Backup alarms

NTEA commonly fields questions on which vehicle standard mandates backup alarms. Although rear vision system requirements — as part of FMVSS 111 — are required for trucks with a 10,000-pound or less gross vehicle weight rating, backup alarms are not part of this regulation and are not required under other FMVSS.
