Lightweighting: Key considerations in greening vehicle fleets

Driver requirements and the evolution of electric vehicles and other green technologies, are causing our customers — who traditionally use trucks in the 10,000-pound and over GVWR range — to consider downsizing to trucks under 10,000 pounds GVWR while carrying a similar payload to the higher GVWR vehicle. We’ve heard lightweighting may be a way to maintain payload while reducing GVWR. Can you explain the benefits and concerns associated with this approach?
