Assigning ratings to new vehicles

Recently, a customer was cited by an enforcement official for having “an improper GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) sticker” on a new truck we produced for him and was instructed to install a “proper label” or the truck would be placed out-of-service. After gathering all of the facts, we found the enforcement official believed the GVWR and GAWRs we assigned to the vehicle upon completion were illegitimate because the values on our certification label did not match those of the original chassis.
