Harp’s Tarps is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026. Since its founding in Stone Mountain, Georgia, the company Glenn Harp & Sons (now better known as Harp’s Tarps) has grown from a young tarp company into an established and trusted partner for owner-operators, distributors, and OEMs across the Unites States and beyond.
Harp’s Tarps was founded in 1976 by Levy Glenn Harp with the goal of providing both stability for his family and a practical solution for the market. While working as a fabric salesman, Mr. Harp gained firsthand insight into the materials used to manufacture tarps and recognized a growing need in the Southeast for a reliable, locally based tarp shop. Seeing an opportunity to combine his industry knowledge with a customer demand, he set out to build the company that continues to be successful today.
Soon entering its fourth generation of family leadership, Harp’s Tarps attributes its longevity and reputation to three core principles: quality, leadership, and adaptability. From the beginning, the company has prioritized premium materials and enduring craftsmanship, never believing in cutting corners. The dedicated leadership to provide an ethical workplace and customer-centered service has undeniably contributed to its reputation not only among its loyal customers but across the industry as well. Lastly, Harp’s Tarps’ ability to adapt in an ever-changing industry and economic landscape has fueled its continued growth and success, culminating in the company’s 50-year milestone.
With a continued focus on quality, innovation, and service to others, Harp’s Tarps looks forward to the next 50 years of supporting the transportation industry.
