Curry Supply is seeking a vice president of sales, responsible for leading Curry Supply’s sales organization and executing the company’s commercial strategy across all products, markets, channels, and geographic regions. This role is accountable for profitable revenue growth, customer retention, market expansion, pricing discipline, forecast accuracy, pipeline development, and consistent execution of the company’s sales processes.
The Vice President of Sales partners closely with the Vice President of Operation and the executive leadership team to translate corporate strategy into measurable commercial results. This position leads the development of high-performing sales teams and ensures customer demand, product strategy, pricing, and commitments are aligned with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and Product Support.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the company’s drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements. Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Skill(s): Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills; proven executive sales leadership; demonstrated success building and executing national sales strategies; strong knowledge of industrial equipment, vocational trucks, manufacturing, distribution, and rental markets; mastery of key-account development, pricing strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, and commercial discipline; ability to lead organizational change and develop high-performing teams; strong financial acumen with working knowledge of revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, and return on investment; data-driven approach to KPI management; hands-on experience with CRM, CPQ, ERP, QAD, Salesforce, and business intelligence platforms; and ability to travel regularly to company facilities, customers, trade shows, and industry events.
Working Conditions: Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; extended time working on a computer and use of fine motor skills involving repetitive motions; frequent travel; and operation of a motor vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license.
Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibility within manufacturing, vocational trucks, industrial equipment, distribution, fleet, rental, or a related business-to-business market.
Essential Duties
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the day-to-day activities and long-term development of Curry Supply’s sales organization across all assigned markets, channels, products, and regions.
- Develop and execute annual and multi-year sales strategies that support the company’s revenue, gross margin, market-share, and profitability objectives.
- Translate corporate growth priorities into clear territory, account, product, and individual sales plans.
- Establish consistent expectations, operating rhythms, performance standards, and accountability across the sales organization.
- Evaluate market conditions, competitive activity, customer demand, and emerging opportunities to guide commercial priorities.
- Support expansion into new markets, products, channels, strategic partnerships, and geographic territories.
2. Revenue Growth & Market Development
- Deliver profitable organic growth through new-account acquisition, increased share of wallet, customer retention, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for Curry-manufactured products, distributed products, rental customers, fleet accounts, dealers, and Product Support offerings.
- Identify and prioritize target markets, strategic customers, and product opportunities using market intelligence and financial analysis.
- Maintain senior-level relationships with major customers and participate directly in strategic negotiations, business reviews, and issue resolution.
- Build a disciplined approach to prospecting, opportunity conversion, cross-selling, and customer lifecycle management.
- Represent Curry Supply at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and other strategic market activities.
3. Forecasting, Pipeline & Commercial Execution
- Own the sales forecast and ensure timely, accurate visibility of pipeline, bookings, revenue timing, product mix, and customer demand.
- Establish standardized sales stages, qualification criteria, probability rules, close plans, and pipeline-review processes.
- Drive effective Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) by providing reliable demand forecasts and clear communication of customer priorities.
- Align customer commitments with available chassis, material lead times, engineering capacity, production schedules, and delivery capabilities.
- Monitor orders, backlog, aging opportunities, quote activity, win rates, and conversion trends; take corrective action where performance falls short.
- Ensure customer, opportunity, quote, and forecast data are complete, current, and accurate in Salesforce, CPQ, QAD, and related systems.
- Partner with Operations, Marketing & Finance to improve reporting, territory design, quota setting, incentive plans, and performance analytics.
- Lead regular sales reviews focused on results, obstacles, commitments, and specific actions required to close performance gaps.
- Create disciplined handoffs from sales through order entry, engineering, production, delivery, and post-sale support.
- Ensure signed quotes, complete specifications, chassis information, supplier pricing, approvals, and other order requirements are secured before submission.
- Build, develop, and mentor high-performing sales leaders and individual contributors.
- Establish succession plans and organizational-development strategies for critical commercial roles.
- Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, ethical conduct, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration among Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Product Support.
- Ensure sales priorities and demand plans remain aligned with company capacity, working-capital objectives, and profitability requirements.
4. Pricing, Margin & Contract Discipline
- Lead pricing strategy and enforce approval requirements, margin thresholds, discount controls, and commercial terms.
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to understand product cost, market pricing, competitive position, and deal profitability.
- Review and approve major quotes, bids, national-account proposals, exceptions, and other material commercial commitments within delegated authority.
- Ensure customer agreements, purchase orders, specifications, and requested terms are reviewed by the appropriate internal stakeholders before acceptance.
- Improve sales mix, price realization, gross margin, and contribution margin while balancing strategic customer relationships and market conditions.
5. Customer Experience & Key Accounts
- Serve as executive sponsor for major national, rental, fleet, dealer, and strategic accounts.
- Establish account plans, executive business reviews, service expectations, growth objectives, and retention strategies for key customers.
- Coordinate timely resolution of customer concerns involving quality, delivery, warranty, service, pricing, or contractual commitments.
- Capture and communicate voice-of-customer feedback to guide product development, quality improvement, service offerings, and commercial strategy.
- Build durable customer relationships that strengthen Curry Supply’s reputation, preferred-supplier status, and long-term revenue base.
6. Leadership & Talent Developme
- Recruit, organize, coach, and retain a high-performing sales organization with clear roles, territories, goals, and standards.
- Establish succession planning and development plans for sales leaders and critical customer-facing positions.
- Set measurable individual and team goals; conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action when required.
- Develop selling skills in consultative discovery, product knowledge, value communication, negotiation, financial discipline, and account planning.
- Create a collaborative culture that rewards profitable growth, accurate forecasting, customer stewardship, and team performance.
7. Systems & Commercial Infrastructure
- Lead adoption and optimization of Salesforce, CPQ, QAD, business intelligence, and supporting commercial systems.
- Ensure accurate reporting and visibility of sales activity, pipeline, bookings, backlog, revenue, margin, customer concentration, and market performance.
- Standardize sales processes, data requirements, dashboards, account ownership, territory rules, and commercial approval workflows.
- Partner with Marketing and Business Intelligence to improve lead generation, campaign measurement, market segmentation, customer analytics, and decision support.
8. Key Performance Indicators
