The only ambulance to receive a 2025 EMS World Innovation Award is returning to the event where it made its debut. Demers Ambulances will showcase the award-winning FXP 174 Type I at EMS World Expo 2026, taking place September 28 through October 2 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Designed around the real-world needs of EMS crews, the FXP 174 combines breakthrough responder mobility with a purpose-built clinical environment focused on safety, ergonomics, and intuitive patient care. Attendees can experience the vehicle firsthand in booth #1601, where it will be displayed with support from Demers dealer partner, North Eastern Rescue Vehicles.

At the heart of the FXP 174 are Demers’ exclusive FX Action™ Seats, a first-of-its-kind seating system that allows crew members to remain securely buckled while maintaining mobility and unobstructed access to the patient. Positioned next to the stretcher, the seats help first responders brace with their legs and keep their hands available for patient care. Each seat also includes occupant sensors, an integrated belt system, and an emergency lock tested to withstand 26G acceleration.
The FXP 174’s door-forward design creates a more efficient clinical layout, improving crew movement and access throughout the patient compartment. Taller rear doors and 72 inches of interior headroom support more ergonomic entry and exit, while optimized storage keeps essential equipment within reach. Additional enhancements include advanced exterior lighting patterns, windows on both the curbside and street side, an ultrawide electric pass-through window, linear RGBW interior lighting, and a dual HVAC ducted diffusion system engineered for crew and patient comfort.
