NTEA recently launched Commercial Vehicle Hydraulics, an online learning course developed in collaboration with Muncie Power Products that introduces hydraulic systems used on vocational trucks and equipment. Designed to build practical, foundational knowledge, the course explores the principles of hydraulic operation and the components that work together to power a variety of work truck applications.
Participants will learn how flow, pressure, and force affect hydraulic system performance while gaining an understanding of key components and their functions. The course also addresses component selection, system operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to help learners improve hydraulic system performance, reliability, and safety in real-world applications.
Topics include:
- Fundamental hydraulic principles, including flow, pressure, and force
- Power takeoffs (PTOs)
- Hydraulic pumps and reservoirs
- Valves and controls
- Cylinders and hydraulic motors
- Filters and filtration
- Hydraulic system operation and component selection
- Preventive maintenance
- Troubleshooting techniques
- Application-specific considerations for vocational trucks and equipment
This course is available to NTEA members for $0 (login required) and nonmembers for $99. Visit ntea.com/hydraulicsfundamentals to learn more and order.
