As the commercial vehicle industry continues to evolve at an accelerating pace, access to reliable, actionable information has never been more important. NTEA remains committed to serving as a trusted resource in the most critical areas shaping the industry’s present and future, including new vehicle, equipment, and technology trends. I’d like to share some of the various resources the Association offers to help members make informed decisions and support further change and innovation throughout the industry.
One of the Association’s core priorities is advocating on behalf of the North American work truck industry. Legislative and regulatory developments can significantly impact how vehicles are designed, manufactured and sold. NTEA works to ensure the industry’s voice is represented while providing members with timely insight into government activity. These resources, available at ntea.com/advocacy, help members stay informed and prepared as policies evolve.
Equally important is access to technical expertise. As vehicle systems grow more complex, so do the challenges associated with engineering, compliance and integration. NTEA offers a robust suite of tools and resources covering body and equipment installation, commercial vehicle design and conformance, OEM upfitter guidance, vehicle certification, and weight calculations. These resources are designed to support sound decision-making at every stage of the build process. In addition, members are encouraged to connect directly with NTEA’s technical services team. Their deep industry knowledge and practical experience can help address complex questions and uncover effective solutions.
Looking ahead, education and collaboration continue to play a vital role in advancing the industry. During Work Truck Week 2027, NTEA will launch Future Truck Summit (formerly Green Truck Summit) in collaboration with NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA). This event will feature an expanded curriculum focused on the fuels, software, hardware and on-vehicle technology that is rapidly evolving and driving improvements in commercial vehicle efficiency, safety and durability. The Summit has evolved to place increased emphasis on vehicle-specific technology like sensors, ADAS, lightweighting, advanced composites, and power management. I encourage you to join us on March 9, 2027, as we launch this next chapter and continue building a shared understanding of the road ahead.
As an NTEA member, you have access to these resources — and many more — designed to support your success in a rapidly changing environment. I encourage you to take full advantage of the Association’s tools, publications, and expertise.
