Horizon Motor announced it received a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) certification for its 2026 model-year Class 3–5 zero-emission powertrain family.
The certification confirms that Horizon Motor’s battery-electric powertrains meet the requirements of the California Standards and Test Procedures for New 2021 and Subsequent Model Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Powertrains, and are deemed to have zero exhaust emissions for criteria pollutants and greenhouse gases.
With this Executive Order in place, Horizon Motor is now authorized to offer Class 3–5 zero-emission vehicles for sale in California and other CARB-adopting states, including New York and New Jersey, that follow California heavy-duty emissions standards.
Horizon Motor has also submitted its application to participate in applicable incentive programs, including California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), and is currently awaiting approval.
The company expects additional CARB certifications covering higher-weight classes to follow in the coming weeks, further expanding its Class 3–8 zero-emission product portfolio.
