NTEA surveys and insight reports

NTEA typically distributes the following surveys on an annual or regular basis to targeted audiences (excludes special one-off requests). For more information or participation details, please contact us at info@ntea.com.

Annual Manufacturers’ Shipments Survey
NTEA’s Annual Manufacturers’ Shipments Survey (AMSS), conducted each spring, offers the work truck industry a data source to estimate market size in terms of dollars and units for 77 product lines. The 21st edition of this survey report, featuring 2019 data, is available in digital format for $99 members, $599 nonmembers (participants receive a free printed copy).

If you’d like to get involved in the 22nd edition of AMSS (currently open for participation), contact Steve Latin-Kasper (stevelk@ntea.com or 248-479-8193).

Business Conditions Survey
Available twice yearly (in January and July) to NTEA distributor and manufacturer members, Business Conditions Survey helps industry companies better anticipate the upcoming market and gain insights into expectations regarding hiring, sales levels and business strategies. Participants receive a complimentary digital report (not available for purchase); overall results are published in NTEA News.

Fleet Purchasing Outlook
Each fall, Fleet Purchasing Outlook Survey is distributed to hundreds of fleet professionals in mid- to high-level management, with authority to make decisions on truck acquisition and vehicle specification. A broad range of fleet sizes, vehicle weight classes and vocational truck applications is represented in the resulting report as participants span the U.S. and Canada. With current survey results combined with data from previous studies, this report delivers year-to-year comparisons for benchmarking purposes and insight into fleet plans for the year ahead. Participants receive a complimentary digital report (regularly free to members; $199 nonmembers).

OEM Quarterly Chassis Report
Based on data compiled through NTEA’s OEM Monthly Statistics Program, OEM Quarterly Chassis Report delivers analysis of box-off truck chassis and commercial van shipments and sales data provided by chassis manufacturers. Information focuses on incomplete commercial units entering the market for upfitting. This digital report is released quarterly in March, June, September and December (available free to members; $299 annual subscription for nonmembers).

Work Truck Industry Employee Benefits Survey
In late 2018, NTEA conducted a Work Truck Industry Employee Benefits Survey to benchmark employee (both shop and administrative) benefit offerings to help support staff recruitment and retention. This research initiative enables companies to review where they stand and how they may want to position themselves as an employer of choice. The report — a compilation of data received from 159 work truck industry respondents — is available as a complimentary download.
