In my current role, I have the privilege of traveling across the United States and engaging with some of the foremost industry-leading manufacturers. While these companies operate independently, focusing on diverse truck segments and pursuing distinct goals, they share common concerns: workforce retention and the attraction of new talent.

The question arises: How can we foster workforce retention and draw in fresh talent? As we prepare for the educational sessions at Work Truck Week 2024, I'm excited to share that a new Workforce Development track is on offer this year, and it is open to all WTW24 registrants. Held March 67, these sessions aim to address workforce development challenges head-on.

The first session, "Exploring Ways to Maximize Your Talent Pipeline," scheduled Wednesday, March 6 from 12 p.m., will delve into distinctive workforce development and retention approaches. Industry leaders from Godwin Group and TBEI will share insights, highlighting the Work Truck Industry Welder Certification Program as a case study. Join this engaging panel discussion to discover strategies for developing your existing workforce and planning for the next generation.

On Thursday, March 7, from 11:45 p.m., don't miss "Empowering the Next Generation: Community Collaboration Opportunities." This paneled session will explore the symbiotic relationship between high schools and local companies in the work truck industry. Uncover innovative strategies and real-world examples of how businesses can collaborate with high schools, fostering student development and creating promising career opportunities.

Last but not least, on Thursday, March 7, from 22:230 p.m., Za Farley, founder and CEO of Black Fleet Network™ will moderate “Exploring Careers in Commercial Vehicles,” during which young professionals thriving in the work truck industry will share their unique insights and perspectives. Panelists include our very own Ashley Pace and Nate Eichinger  Generation Next's chair and governor at large.

Each of these valuable sessions is complimentary and open to all WTW24 registrants.

As a reminder, here are some opportunities specific to you as a member of Generation Next at the event.

We hope to see you at the show!
