U.S. construction industry expenditures peaked last summer, reaching $165.3 billion in July 2022. For the sake of comparison, that one month of expenditures was greater than total commercial truck and truck equipment sales estimated for the entire year 2022. Total construction expenditures reached $1.765 trillion last year.
