Executive Leadership Summit lineup announced

NTEA’s Executive Leadership Summit brings perspective to economic and business trends affecting the work truck industry. Content is designed to address powerful marketplace dynamics influencing commercial vehicles and your company. The 2020 event will be held Oct. 20 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor, with an optional welcome reception Oct. 19.

This event brings the commercial vehicle community’s most significant issues to the forefront, providing a unique forum for productive peer-to-peer conversation and problem-solving with insights from highly-regarded experts.

Economic forecast
During North American Economic Forecast, Robert Fry Jr., PhD, chief economist of Robert Fry Economics LLC, will offer insights into U.S. economic expectations, including potential challenges and opportunities in 2021. Learn how key factors such as consumer confidence, housing starts, employment levels, commodities prices and foreign trade will influence North America and the global economy.     

Market and industry outlook
Steve Latin-Kasper, NTEA’s director of market data and research, will follow the macroeconomics conversation with an overview of Work Truck Industry and Key End-Use Forecasts, providing in-depth review of sector-specific effects. He’ll outline market size and segmentation by cab type and weight class, delivering a forward look at elements directly impacting the future of industry business. In addition, attendees will get an update on primary vehicle application markets, such as construction, energy, telecoms, state/local government, agriculture, and cartage and delivery.

Change management
Hear practical leadership strategies, real-world experiences and neuroscience-based principles for gaining support to drive change in your business during Leading Through Change: Navigating Uncertainty in a High-Velocity World. During this session, Elise Mitchell, founder of Mitchell Communications Group, will share why your team naturally resists change and what you can do to turn that around. She’ll also cover techniques to inspire new ways of thinking and behaving; a change roadmap and eight-step navigation process; and cognitive strategies for thinking clearly, managing emotions and gaining buy-in.

Leadership strategies
Erik Meier, president & CEO of Sandler Training by EAM Consulting, will present Building a Bulletproof Business – Top Leadership Blind Spots, where he will address common company blind spots. These include not being in recruiting mode or establishing a hiring process, not tying corporate goals to personal ones, losing focus on lead generation, fostering a culture of learned helplessness, neglecting to share the vision with those tasked with implementing it, and more. Attendees will learn how the Six Ps — a proven leadership model incorporating planning, positions, people, processes, performetrics and passion — can help companies improve in each of the 13 blind spots.

Employee engagement
