Congratulations
to Mike Kastner, NTEA senior vice president, on his 35th anniversary with the
Association.
As a
tenured commercial vehicle government relations and regulatory professional, he
serves as our industry’s key liaison in Washington, DC, and Ottawa, Ontario,
monitoring relevant regulations and safety standards, as well as protecting and
advancing industry interests. Mike oversees all the Association’s legislative
and regulatory lobbying efforts across the United States and Canada and helps
to advance the interest of the industry on behalf of the Association.
“For more
than three decades, Mike has championed the interests of our industry,” said
Steve Carey, NTEA president & CEO. “This career milestone is becoming
increasingly rare in today’s world. We are fortunate to have an individual who
continuously demonstrates a passion for our industry and has dedicated his
career to our membership and the NTEA. We look forward to his continued service
to the industry and membership.”
Mike’s
career milestones include appointment by the U.S. Trade Representative and
Secretary of Commerce to the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Automotive
Equipment and Capital Goods. He also served as Chairman of the ASAE Public
Policy Committee and has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE)
designation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan
State University (East Lansing, Michigan).
“What NTEA
members do is vital for the economy and I have always considered it a privilege
to represent the work truck industry,” said Mike Kastner, NTEA senior vice
president. “At the same time, I have met some of the nicest, kindest and
hardest-working people ever — many who have become life-long friends.”
