Issue: On certain concrete mixer trucks, the hardware used to secure the rear lift axle could be defective. If the hardware fails, the lift axle could separate from the attaching arms and fall from the vehicle. This could also cause the vehicle to become unstable. Safety Risk: A lift axle that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. An unstable vehicle could also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and provide you with new hardware to secure the lift axle to the mounting arms.

Issue: On certain school buses, the castle nut that attaches the steering arm to the drag link may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the drag link could separate and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Blue Bird will notify owners by mail and provide instructions for how to inspect and tighten the castle nuts that attach the drag link. No replacement parts are required for this recall.

Issue: On certain trucks equipped with dual rear wheels and work truck trim level, the roof-mounted front clearance and identification lamps were not installed. Canadian regulations require these lamps on vehicles that are more than 2,032 mm (80“) wide. Safety Risk: A vehicle without clearance and identification lamps could be less visible to other road users, which could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to install the missing clearance and identification lamps.

Issue: On certain trucks, the brake modulator valves could corrode. As a result, the brakes on one side of the vehicle may be slow to release after an automatic braking event. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem does not affect the regular service brakes. Safety Risk: A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail. The final repairs for this recall are under development. DTNA will send you a second letter once the final repairs are available.

Recall Details
Issue: Certain tires were made with missing information on the sidewalls. This includes, the tire identification number (TIN), maximum speed, maximum load and inflation pressure, and the tire construction. Canadian regulations require this information to be marked on the sidewalls of all tires. Missing or incorrect tire information may result in the tire being used or serviced improperly, and could result in a tire failure. Safety Risk: Improper tire installation or use can create the risk of a tire failure, and could increase the risk of a crash. Note: If the tires are installed correctly and properly inflated, there is no risk to safety. Corrective Actions: Bridgestone will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a tire dealer to replace the tires. If these tires are installed on your vehicle, they should be properly maintained until they can be replaced. If you have questions about the use or inflation of your tires, you should contact Bridgestone or tire dealer.
