Vehicle certification is more than just sticking labels on trucks. Proper vehicle certification is required by law and helps to assure the purchaser of a safe and reliable vehicle. In this three-part webinar series, you will learn how to determine which label is required for the different stages of certification and how to properly complete each label. Additional topics include the critical elements of certification: payload analysis, weight distribution, and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) compliance analysis.
Part 3 will focus on intermediate manufacturer certification and labeling requirements. NHTSA defines an intermediate-stage manufacturer as a person, other than the incomplete vehicle manufacturer or the final-stage manufacturer, who performs manufacturing operations on a vehicle manufactures in two or more stages. The certification-related duties of intermediate stage manufacturers are unique and require special attention.
