NTEA’s Commercial Vehicle Upfitting Summit—scheduled Oct. 3–4 at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio—will be here before we know it. This annual event is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with new commercial vehicles and hear from OEM representatives about updates and changes that may impact the work truck industry.

Anyone in a technical role should consider attending this event because representatives from major chassis OEMs will share updates to powertrains, electrical systems, chassis layouts and other systems. Not only that, but attendees will be able to crawl over, under and around the display vehicles to get measurements, take pictures and check placement of components. All of this will provide you with great insight into how you can prepare for the coming year. This event is a resource for body builders, distributors, upfitters and fleets.

In addition to the OEM presentations and displays, you can attend industry education sessions and hear from experts on a number of topics, including chassis design, EV safety standards, understanding the EPA’s clean truck plan and more.

The Summit is also a great opportunity to meet and network with like-minded professionals from around the industry. Bring some business cards and meet other engineers, technical specialists and equipment installers while nerding out over technical details of trucks. You can build relationships, exchange ideas and establish valuable contacts.

Overall, attending the Commercial Vehicle Upfitting Summit offers a unique opportunity to stay informed, connect with industry professionals, expand your knowledge and bring back valuable insights to your company.
