It’s hard to believe that after all the time spent for its preparation, The Work Truck Show 2016 is already behind us. With record numbers of people in attendance for the trade show and educational sessions, this year’s event has proven to be a huge success. We can’t do it without you, so thank you for your continued interest and participation in NTEA’s programs.

Generation Next saw a lot of growth this past year due to our dedicated Board of Governors.  Our governors graciously volunteer their time to help develop programs and initiatives that translate into professional development opportunities for you.

At the Show this year, we were excited to launch the Take 5 networking event prior to the Opening Reception. We welcomed 35 Generation Next members at this inaugural event. It was a pleasure meeting many of you, and we look forward to hosting this event next year with continued growth. Twenty-three people also joined Generation Next during the Show.

Interest in our Special Session exceeded our expectations;  the Generation Next Leadership and Networking Event: Flying in Formation was a sell-out. It was wonderful to welcome Greg Wooldridge of the Blue Angels to speak to so many industry professionals about how to build a cohesive team through leadership.

Board of Governors appointments

As we transition into a new year, we say goodbye to our chairperson Andrea Velliky of Jack Doheny Companies. Her leadership and service to Generation Next has been paramount in expanding our group to where it is today. She will certainly be missed, but as your new chairperson, I am inspired and motivated to continue to expand on her ideas.

Andrew Dawson of Muncie Power Products will serve as our new Vice Chairperson, and Jennifer Pellersels of Altec Industries will be our new Treasurer.

We are pleased to announce two new individuals were elected to serve as Governors at Large for the 2016-17 Generation Next Board of Governors. Nate Gibson of Canfield Equipment Service Inc. and Steven Lopez of Hissong Group officially began their term during The Work Truck Show.

As always, we encourage you to reach out to our Board of Governors with your comments and suggestions. All ideas are welcome; our goal is to make Generation Next even more beneficial to you.

Join our LinkedIn and Facebook groups to become more engaged and learn about upcoming networking and educational opportunities. These groups are open to members of NTEA Generation Next.
