Commercial Vehicle Upfitting Summit features the following Industry Education Sessions on helpful tools and resources for business operations and planning.

Chassis Design Considerations for the Work Truck Industry
Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2:30–3 p.m.
As an extension of a long-standing document from the American Institute of Service Body Manufacturers, NTEA’s OEM Chassis Considerations Guide — which will be released at the Upfitting Summit — is designed to assist OEMs with the development of current and future chassis products for various commercial vehicle applications. The work truck industry is vast, varied and continuously evolving, and this guide is intended to serve as a living document, informing OEM product planning communities of key chassis elements needed as the foundation of a commercial vehicle from the perspective of vocational body and equipment manufacturers.

Electrified Propulsion Vehicles (xEV) High-Voltage Electrical Safety Standards

Join ASE’s Corey Glassman as he presents information on new standards for electric vehicle safety. These standards provide guidance to create electrically safe work conditions as well as establish several levels of certification for individuals working on or around electrified vehicles and provide certification tests for each. This session will cover safety standards design and development, identifying differences between the certification levels and test delivery through NetExam.

Top Upfitting Risk Exposures for Multi-Stage Manufacturers

Learn common areas of risk exposure faced by multi-stage manufacturers, and gain recommendations for risk mitigation. Key topics include exhaust and fuel system routing, electrical routing, tires, towing, lighting, advanced safety system integration, warning labels, weight distribution/center of gravity analyses and preventive maintenance.

Welder Certification Training Program

Designed for the work truck industry, the Welder Certification Program provides Train-the-Trainer education and teaches professional welders to become certified welding trainers. This session will provide an overview of the education your employed welder will receive to become an effective on-the-job trainer for your company.
