When beginning a new year, I like to reflect on where I’ve been. I know for many of us, 2022 was marked by much-needed opportunities to reconnect face-to-face as families, businesses, schools and events began welcoming the return of in-person gatherings.

It was great to see our commercial vehicle community together again in Indianapolis for the first time since March 2020 at Work Truck Week® 2022. There was an incredible energy and enthusiasm from everyone I talked with at the event. This momentum continued in the second half of the year with Commercial Vehicle Upfitting Summit in Sandusky, Ohio, and Executive Leadership Summit in Baltimore, Maryland. Now here we are launching 2023 with Work Truck Week right around the corner.

As you know, Work Truck Week is your opportunity to see the latest commercial vehicle products, connect with industry professionals in the exhibit hall and at special events, gain perspective with a broad range of industry-focused education, and gain access to engineering representatives from hundreds of exhibiting companies. WTW23 once again kicks off with Green Truck Summit, which provides insights, solutions and resources in support of the work truck industry’s drive toward achieving greater sustainability, productivity and efficiency. Green Truck Summit offers intensive programs from industry experts, government representatives, fleets, and vehicle and equipment manufacturers, and this year’s keynote address features Jennifer Rumsey, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Cummins Inc.

As we kick off 2023, I want to recognize the work you do day in and day out that drives our North American and global economies. Even during times of significant challenge, the people and businesses that represent this thriving, ever-evolving industry continue to make a difference in the communities where we live and work. As your advocate and partner, the Association is here to support your efforts. Thank you for the work you do as a part of this vital industry.

Happy new year to you. I look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis!
