Universal Body & Equipment welcomes two new partners; opens new facility


Universal Body & Equipment (Watertown, Connecticut) announces two new partners and headquarters facility. After nearly two decades of employment at Universal, Director of Sales Frank Porter along with Service Manager Harry Olsen were named partners of the business. They are teaming up with original partners, President John R. Dufour and VP of Operations Gordon Nicol.

The 4-person ownership team also announced they have moved the business to a state of the art 16-thousand square foot building on 192 Park Road in Watertown. The new facility is open and features state of the art equipment that can perform unmatched work in Connecticut:
  • Down-draft, temperature controlled paint booth;
  • Two (2) five-ton, remote control ceiling cranes;
  • One (1) two-ton remote control ceiling crane.

In addition, space includes a 3200 square foot parts warehouse, 1600 square foot showroom, along with 1600 square feet of office space. The property is owned by and the building developed by Dufour Family Properties, LLC and is leased long term to Universal Body & Equipment. Dufour says the new space will provide an unrivaled experience and provide top-notch expertise with the addition of two new partners.
