Green Truck Leadership Award Presented to
U.S. Representative Gary Peters at the Green Truck Summit

Farmington Hills, MI (March 9, 2010) — At the Green Truck Summit this morning, U.S. Representative Gary Peters (MI) received the first-ever Green Truck Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions in promoting advanced alternative fuels technologies for work trucks. Congressman Peters recently authored the Advanced Vehicle Technology Act.

National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) President Andrew Outcalt, President of Swenson Spreader and Meyer Products (Cleveland, OH) presented the award. According to Outcalt, "Congressman Peters' efforts in Washington will help secure the future of cleaner and more efficient motor vehicles. We are proud to honor him today."

NTEA Executive Director Jim Carney added, "This bill would provide manufacturing companies, large and small, with the critical investments needed to assist in the development and deployment of trucks using advanced drive-line technologies. This is a powerful step forward for our industry."

The Green Truck Summit, a two-day educational conference revealing the latest innovations in green truck technology, is held annually in conjunction with The Work Truck Show, North America's largest work truck event. This year's event takes place in St. Louis, MO; next year's event will be held in Indianapolis, IN. The Summit is recognized nationally for its real-world insights and world-class presenters.
