Determining What You Make vs. What You Buy

PaddyFlemingPhotoTuesday, March 9, 9:00AM - 12:00PM

It’s critical to have sound financial reasons for determining why you make vs. buy components and subassemblies for your business. Learn the tools and methods for make vs. buy decisions based on proven operational and financial analysis. Discover how production capacity/capability, capital investment, organizational/administrative burdens and service implications enter into the decision-making process. Make vs. buy analysis sheets will demonstrate essential financial calculations and provide a practical, clear and easy-to-use approach for decision-making.

LEARN HOW TO:

  • Identify and isolate the financial and/or organizational factors involved in a specific make vs. buy decision.
  • Calculate the costs and benefits for both “make” and “buy” decisions.
  • Assign weights to factors based on their relative impact on the make vs. buy decision.
  • Incorporate important non-financial factors into your decision.
