Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems
This Standard applies to MPVs, trucks and buses. It specifies requirements and testing procedures for hydraulic brakes, service brakes, emergency brakes, automatic brake adjusters and associated parking brake systems. Starting March 1, 1999, anti-lock brakes are required on new, single-unit trucks and buses with a GVWR greater than 10,000 lbs. (4,536 kg) and hydraulic brakes.
