While some results of the mid-term elections remain to be determined, those results will not change the new balance of power – a Democrat-controlled House and a Republican-controlled Senate. The new divided 116th Congress will begin in January. Gridlock on many issues is likely in the new Congress, but both parties have indicated an interest in working to approve new infrastructure funding.
