Legislation to repeal the 12% federal excise tax on heavy trucks, trailers and equipment has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) and Collin Peterson (D-MN). HR 2381 – The Modern, Clean and Safe Trucks Act of 2019 already has nine co-sponsors.
NTEA is a founding member of the Modernize the Truck Fleet (MTF) coalition to repeal the FET.
