Congressional recess

Published in the August 2018 issue of Washington Update

Congress is traditionally in recess for most of August through Labor Day. While they have taken some time to return to their home districts, the lack of progress on appropriations bills and judicial nominations (in the Senate) has resulted in abbreviated recess time. It is expected that much of the next several weeks will be devoted to finalize the budget for the next fiscal year which begins October 1, 2018.
