FMVSS 226 – Ejection Mitigation

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 226 was established to reduce partial and complete ejections of vehicle occupants through side window openings during rollover and side impact events. It applies to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or less, and vehicles manufactured in multiple stages have been required to meet this standard since Sept. 1, 2018.

During this webinar, truck equipment manufacturers and distributors gained an understanding of the requirements and how to meet them when upfitting vehicles required to meet this standard. A crew van upfit case study highlighted the test procedure involved with the standard and compliance methods.
