Manufacturers Sales Representatives Council (MSRC) was established as an NTEA affiliate division in 2010. It was conceived by two veteran sales professionals, Bill Coyne and Eric Gramley, who saw a need for independent truck equipment sales representatives to gain recognition as a distinct industry entity.
Although independent sales representatives were active for decades, they weren’t officially recognized as a professional group within NTEA. MSRC’s formation gave representatives a platform to promote their value to manufacturers through NTEA events such as The Work Truck Show®.
As a viable alternative or supplement to a company-employed salesforce, independent manufacturer representatives offer industry experience and connections, and can contact distributors at a lower cost to manufacturers. Before MSRC was introduced, many manufacturers were unfamiliar with this option; others were unsure of how to locate representatives. MSRC provides a forum for representatives to share their services and connect with interested manufacturers.
