Each year, anticipation for Work Truck Week is high. As always, NTEA delivered another great event March 5-8 (educational sessions started March 5; exhibit hall was open March 6-8).  On behalf of Generation Next, NTEA’s professional development organization, I would like to thank those of you who attended this year. If you were unable to join us, be sure to attend in 2020 (sign up to receive WTS20 news and registration information).

Leadership recognition

I would like to thank Jennifer Pellersels for her commitment and leadership as chairman of Generation Next Board of Governors over the past year. Jennifer laid the groundwork that we hope to continue to make Generation Next even better.

I also want to welcome the newest members of the Board of Governors: Aaron Clevenger, Paige Geddings, Brian Guillerault, and RJ Oster. These individuals were recently elected to serve three-year terms.

Generation Next at WTS19

Generation Next hosts special events at The Work Truck Show®, including:

  • Take5: This annual event is an exclusive reception enabling WTS attendees who are new to the industry (less than 10 years of service) to build relationships with current members of Generation Next. It’s a great networking opportunity. At this year’s Take5, many members of the NTEA Board were also in attendance. We cannot thank the NTEA Board enough for their support of our events.
  • Generation Next Leadership Workshop and Networking Reception: We host this event annually, and bring a keynote speaker onboard to address topics relevant to our members. We want it to be meaningful -- to make sure the takeaways will translate into your work/personal life. This year’s sold-out session, “How to Become a League of Your Own,” was presented by David Anderson, a leading international speaker and author on personal and corporate performance improvement. His message resonated with guests.

Following the presentation each year is an hourlong networking reception where members of the Generation Next Board of Governors are available to answer questions about the group.

This event sells out every year, so be sure to register early for the 2020 Generation Next Leadership Workshop.
