Fleet Certification Opportunities
NTEA is pleased to endorse two self-study online training and certification programs developed and administered by NAFA Fleet Management Association. Both are open to any individual with at least one year experience in any fleet-related position, as well as those enrolled in a college or university program in a fleet-related position:
The CAFM (Certified Automotive Fleet Manager) program offers the most up-to-date fleet management education. Disciplines include asset management; business management; financial management; fleet information management; maintenance management; risk management; vehicle fuel development and professional development.
The CAFS (Certified Automotive Fleet Specialist) program provides three discipline sets based on the candidate’s education or employment needs:
- Set One: Fleet Information Management, Professional Development, Risk Management, and Financial Management.
- Set Two: Asset Management, Fleet Information Management, Business Management, and Risk Management.
- Set Three: Fleet Information Management, Maintenance Management, Professional Development, and Vehicle Fuel Management.
Both programs promote the efficient and informed purchasing of work trucks and include, among other resources, self-instruction manuals, in-person seminars, reference materials and certification examinations.
